US MARINE CORPS TRAINING

Recently David offered his services as a RKC Instructor to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 363. (HMH-363) HMH-363 is a U.S. Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron stationed in Hawaii that will deploy back to Iraq for the second time this summer for 7 months. There are just over 200 Marines in the squadron. I can not afford to lose any of them to injury or lack of endurance in the environment Iraq has to offer. It will be 130 degrees when we arrive and dip below freezing before we return home. The training David provided was imperative for safe, healthy workouts.
David’s instruction provided the squadron with a core of leaders that are trained in how to train with the Kettle Bell. Through his instructional methods and total expertise in training with KB’s, we will now be able to train in Iraq. My goal is to complete our mission and bring everyone home alive and in one piece. To do this, I must ensure every Marine is taken care of in mind, body, and soul. The Marines will complete the mission but I need to ensure they have the tools to do it. I truly believe if we take care of our body, the mind and soul will follow. KB training will provide this.
There are adequate gyms in Al Anbar Province but the squadron will be involved in combat flight operations for 7 months, 24 hours a day. The Marines will have workdays in excess of 15 hours, with many days exceeding those hours. Workout time, gym availability, and the motivation to stay in shape are all at a premium.
As the Commanding Officer for the squadron I want to personally thank David for the opportunity he has provided HMH-363 in helping me ensure we are ready for the fight. I look forward to telling you about our progress once we get to Iraq.

David is an amazing instructor! Very professional, encouraging and intelligent. Kettlebells are awesome! I starting using and learning about ketttlebells about 3 months ago. They are an amazing tool to achieve core strength. David makes kettlebells fun and in every class he pushes you to give your best, so you can achieve your best. Kettlebells are not for sissies!

I was so excited when kettlebells came to Tucson. I had heard it was an awesome training tool. I took the manditory solo session with David as my instructor. He knew his stuff, I love how he knows how to tweek your posture. So, the learning process was easy and not intimidating. I recommend the solo session to everyone, just test it out. Then came the group class, love that it is a ladies only class. Super easy to jump in and workout with different levels of fitness. The best is, David knows how to put a workout together, he knows what exercise is for what and when. Plus he challenges and gives encouragement. If I weren’t leave for Alaska to be a mountain guide I would be at class all summer! I’ll be back in the fall. Just give it a solo try if you are pondering what it is all about, David is super nice. 10 I love swat fitness. Overall, I’ve seen progression in just 3 weeks I haven’t had from any other training program. I feel conditioned, well worth the time, money, and commitment.

Grinds and Heavy metal…
I’ve worked out with Dave for about two months now and have improved drastically. My core strength and cardiovascular capacity are soaring and Im in the best shape I’ve been in a long time. Dave knows how to explain the exercises in a detailed manner so you know exectly what you’re working and WHY. The progression of Dave’s training routines make you improve so fast you almost can’t believe it. I have worked with David since January 2008 and I have nothing but good things to say about him. As a professional officer in the United States Air Force, physical fitness is a top priority. He makes sure that every exercise is done properly before getting into intense workouts. His way of explaining technical movements is easy to understand and remember. Once we were able to dive into workouts, David kept it interesting by diversifying training throughout the week. Kettlebells are an amazing workout when done properly and can significantly improve muscle strength and endurance. Since I started training with kettlebells, my overall strength has greatly improved. Six months later, I continue to train with him, he constantly challenges me with his outstanding workouts. Even with multiple students training at one time, David knows how to build a workout that challanges all students. I would highly recommend David to anyone considering training with kettlebells. Even if you want to do training on your own, David can start you down the right path and give you the knowledge to succeed! Inspiring Personal Training

I had never worked with a personal trainer before, but from day one with Dave at SWAT my experience exceeded my expectations. Kettlebell training was a whole new world to me, but Dave knew exactly the right pace to get me started, keep me from quiting, and to push me forward. Dave was the perfect guide and was very careful to make sure I was progressing with the correct form to keep away from injury. We have been at it together for 4 months now and he has helped me achieve results and a level of fitness I would never guessed I could get to in such a short amount of time. AND he makes it fun! Even as I sweat (and grunt) he still manages to keep the workout fresh and challenging in a way that makes me feel proud of my workout every morning. I still have a long way to go, but because of Dave’s expert experience, knowledge, and training ability I know that I’ll get there. I expect kettlebells to be a regular part of my workout for the rest of my life.

Be a Stronger, Better Comrade

I had worked with personal trainers for over a year before working with David and which turned out to be kettlebell-based workouts. All I have to say is WOW! I read other reviews and agree with them that he is very good at assigning you a workout that works best for you and what you want to do. I am 22 years old, so you can pretty much beat the crap out of me and make me say, “I HATE YOU!” and I’ll come back for more the next day. Believe me, he did. The results I gained were phenominal. Just in sheer strength and endurance and I have only been doing it for 5 months. Also, he happened to be a pretty funny and enthusiastic guy which made waking up in the morning and going to see him much easier. I think he is a great guy, an awesome trainer, and I would recommend him to anyone.

David is a great instructor! I have been taking David’s group kettlebell classes at SWAT Fitness for almost 2 months now and I have seen fantastic results! In only 2 months I’ve lost a combined total of 13 inches from my arms, chest, hips, waist and thighs. I have never experienced another type of exercise that produces the same results in so little time. David is very knowledgable and always makes sure that everyone is working out as safely and efficiently as possible. He does a great job of encouraging all of us to get the most out of our kettlebell workouts in a straight forward and humorous way! I highly recommend David as a kettelbell instructor. He will get you into shape!!

Best Shape of My Life

I’ve been training with Dave for about three months and I am in the best shape of my life. Every workout is a full-body workout and I’ve never left feeling that I’ve given less than 100%. I especially like the way he pushes you to the limit, but always with good form and safety first. He keeps you challenged and motivated. Pushing My Martial Arts to the Next Level

I started training Kettlebells with David 3 months ago &, since that time, my martial arts practice has moved up to the next level. David has gradually escalated the training regimen to a total body cardiovascular & strength work-out. His emphasis on core & leg training has pushed me to the max. The benefit in my martial arts has been noticeable from the get go. My movements are faster, more powerful and significantly more fluid. I would recommend David to any martial artist looking to kick their performance up a notch or two

Hard Work but Fun

I have worked out off and on for the last 15 years with and without instructors. I usually get bored and really don’t enjoy working out. I have been going to Kettlebell classes with David for about 3 months and hate to miss classes. Kettlebells are a kick butt workout however David makes it fun. The workout is an hour of hard work and sweat but the time goes by quickly. I highly recommend kettlebells and David.

David is my workout hero and favorite Boy Scout. On my honor I will do my best – to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. This is the same strength of character that he brings each time we are scheduled to work out and each workout leaves me feeling better than before. David always remembers my knee injury and builds routines that will help me and never hurt me. My strength has greatly improved in the few months David has been guiding me and we are now focusing more on my nutritional needs to achieve my weight loss goal. I chose Kettlebells because I was bored with my normal routine and wanted a challenging, fast-paced and energizing workout. Kettlebells has definitely given me what I was looking for and David is a great instructor! He did an awesome job of providing me with the basics during our first meeting and has progressively challenged me to increase my kettlebell weight while keeping great form. You WILL feel this workout in the days following every session and notice a difference in your body immediately. I highly recommend training with Kettlebells and especially with David as your guide.

David was an excellent instructor and very easy to work with. He is very friendly and professional at the same time. The workouts were amazing! I had tried kettlebells once before and only received about 10% of the info that David gave me! He is very knowledgeable and excells at what he does. He really pays attention to you as you train, correcting form and giving encouragement. I would recommend kettlebells to everyone! They’re different, fun and a hell of a workout. Kettlebells are great for any age and any fitness goal. However, the only reason I enjoyed them so much was because of David. I recommend him as a trainer even more than the kettlebells!

Great Training

I am a professional triathlete, and was in Tucson over the winter training for the upcoming season. I needed to refocus my strength training program, and started working with David. I had a pretty specific idea of what I needed to improve (explosive power, weight loss, no added bulk). We outlined my goals, my fitness level, and the time frame I had available.
The training was excellent, and exactly what I hoped I could get out of it. Actually, I was unsure I could see dramatic improvements in the time I was there, but that’s exactly what happened. Each session pushed me more, and there was always something new to challenge me everyday. I can’t say enough good things about David’s training. I am back home now, and David has offered to introduce me to potential trainers in my area. If I lived in Tucson full time, I would definitely be a full time client.

I recently returned to personal training after a long hiatus. I was introduced to Kettlebell training by Dave. I am always up for a new adventure and thought this would be fun to try. I am AMAZED at how much I LOVE the kettlebells! A large part of my enjoyment with this type of training is due to the EXCELLENT instruction by Dave. He is a fantastic trainer. He has a positive attitude everyday and offers the perfect blend of instruction, enthusiasm and pushing you to work HARD. I have seen definite improvements in my strength and endurance – I love the results. I have been under the instruction of David Cohn for approximately four months now for preparation of RKC Kettlebell Certification. As an avid bodybuilder for many years I have to admit i was a little skeptical about kettlebell training….until David introduced the art of kettlebell training. Now i am addicted and i thoroughly love the results. I am getting stronger every week and was able to rehabilitate a previous acute shoulder injury. David Cohn is an excellent instructor and is always conscientious of the safety and of proper execution of kettlebell exercises with each student. I would highly recommend David as an expert kettlebell instructor to anyone and everyone. Intro to Kettlebell Training

Dave has introduced me to KB training and what got me most interested is his enthusiasm and dedication to this training technique. The results he has personally achieved are incredible. I believe he scores highest in his desire to ensure I get started safely with the correct training techniques and form. At 43 and having a position where injury is not an option, I am very concerned with having correct form and methods. Dave will not let me start without properly training me first. If he was just in it to make a fast buck, he is going about it all wrong!! He is truly dedicated to doing the training correctly and preventing injury. I want to be in this for the long haul and my goals are to train to ensure health and fitness 40 years from now. Dave provides this to all his clients. At this time I only rate him an 8 because I have not begun any training. I am certain once I start he will rate a 10.
